e2m2 Program

ENERGY & ENVIRONMENT
FOR MARYLAND MANUFACTURERS

The manufacturing industry continues to evolve and adapt to increase energy efficiency, reduce greenhouse gas emissions and carbon footprint and explore new opportunities for renewable energies, green technologies and become overall better stewards of the environment. Through a multi-faceted network of manufacturing leaders, public and private stakeholders and others, e2m2 will provide education, guidance, technical support, and assistance to manufacturers in navigating federal, state, and other incentives for the adoption of energy efficiency measures and renewable energy technologies.

The Program is delivered in partnership with the Regional Manufacturing Institute and is funded by Maryland Energy Administration (MEA). The Maryland MEP and RMI partnership will help the state achieve its energy and environmental goals while leveraging their decades of relationship building, program delivery, and experience with the manufacturing sector.

Energy & Environmental Assessment

The e2m2 Program will assist manufacturers with an Energy & Environment Assessment to detail current facility conditions in order to develop a sustainability strategic plan.

  • Calculate energy, greenhouse gas emissions, domestic water, wastewater, solid waste & recycling cost, and consumption baseline.
  • Identify energy consumption reduction, energy retrofit, GHG reduction retrofit, and sustainability & capital improvement programs and projects.
  • Identify opportunities for domestic water consumption reduction.
  • Identify options for use of renewable energy resources.
  • Identify applicable grants, loans, rebates for improvements.
  • Determine the plants energy efficiency rating and performance (EPA Energy Star Manager Program)
  • Funding is reimbursement-based. Maryland MEP will reimburse the company at completion.
  • Funding can cover UP TO 80% of Assessment Cost
  • Maryland MEP has a cap of $10K per company
